After investigation, details of a case may indicate a lesser or different incident description. If the case warrants it, the News will do a follow-up story.

Thursday, Sept. 17 Vehicle accident: Securitas reported at 9:04 a.m. that the driver of an oversized truck in lane 1 of the front gate backed into another vehicle after being instructed to wait by a Securitas gate officer. There was no apparent damage to the truck, but the second vehicle had minor front hood damage. Both drivers exchanged information.

Vehicle accident: An RWC employee reported at 5:25 p.m. a two-vehicle accident near Entry 5 of Tice Creek Drive that resulted in one vehicle rolling over. The Walnut Creek Police Department and Contra Costa Fire Protection District also responded. The driver told Securitas she was driving on Tice Creek Drive when she accidentally hit a parked car. ConFire extracted the driver from the overturned vehicle, and she was taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek.

The son said a scammer came to his father’s Ptarmigan Drive home around 3 p.m. and tried to collect $6,500 after claiming the man’s granddaughter had been in a car accident and was in jail.
