Rossmoor Library materials donation policy
By Rossmoor Library

The Rossmoor Library at Gateway Clubhouse welcomes donations of materials, as well as monetary gifts. However, it does not have the space to accept large numbers of items.
The library respectfully acknowledges that sharing books can be very emotional and that many believe their books, or those of family members, are important, perhaps even historically significant. The library wishes to assure residents that its policy has been developed over time, and is a result of its experience.
The library can accept:
• Hardcover books published in the current or previous three years
• Rossmoor authors published in the past three years
• Recent audiobooks
The library cannot accept:
• CDs or DVDs
• Oversized books
• Mass market paperbacks (small, what used to be called pocketbooks)
The library asks residents to limit their donations to no more than a handful of items. Bring donations inside to the Circulation Desk. Do not put them in the book return or leave them outside the library door.
All donations become the property of the Rossmoor Library. The library will add them to the collection or sell them to obtain much-needed funds. The library is unable to contact donors if they cannot use their donations. If it is something they would want back, it is best not to donate it.
Alternative locations for donations are the Dollar Library and the Lafayette Library Bookstore.
