On the eve of the Israeli elections, JEICOR invites the Rossmoor community to attend its fall speaker event, featuring Dr. Michael Harris, on Monday, Oct. 5 at 3 p.m. in the Fireside Room at Gateway. He has titled his talk “The Making of a Coalition and the Future of the State of Israel.”
Harris is one of the founders of San Francisco Voice for Israel, an organization established in 2004 to respond to anti-Israel demonstrations, and provide education to the public and media responses to San Francisco area anti-Israel groups. Harris continues with this work, as a lay leader with the international education and advocacy organization, Stand With Us, and with San Francisco Voice for Israel, and has reported on television and radio as a local spokesperson for these two groups.
Harris has spoken about Israel at synagogues, churches, senior centers, and to political groups, as well as standing up for Israel against anti-Israel demonstrators on the streets of the Bay Area. His book, “Winning a Debate With an Israel Hater,” was first published in October 2015, with a second edition in November 2018.
In his spare time, Harris was a pediatrician in Marin County, but he is now happily retired and living in Sonoma County.
There will be light refreshments offered at this event, and there will be a Q&A after the talk.
