Dems to host mahjong event to support Measure W on Oct. 8

On Thursday, Oct. 8 from 1 to 3 p.m., residents are invited to bring their mahjong skills to Del Valle Education Center, Room 401, 1963 Tice Valley Blvd., Walnut Creek. Join the Democrats of Rossmoor for an afternoon of mahjong, community and conversation about the future of local high schools!
The event will kick off with a welcome from Wendy Reicher, president of the Acalanes Union High School District Governing Board, who will discuss why Measure W matters for students, schools, and the community. Then time to mix the tiles and play! Check the AUHSD website at www. acalanes.k12.ca.us for more information on the Measure W parcel tax.
All players are welcome – American or Chinese. Sets will be provided, so just bring yourself and a friend. Light refreshments will be served, and there will be a few raffle prizes up for grabs along the way.
