For safety reasons, residents are reminded not to physically visit the front gate if they have an issue.
“There are no safe areas for pedestrians,” Public Safety Manager Tom Cashion explained. “Parking is very limited, and the activity level is intense with many vehicles coming and going. No on-site resident services are available at the gate, so there is no reason for residents to visit there in-person.”
Instead, residents can contact the gate by emailing publicsafety@rossmoor.com or calling 1-925-988-7899. By phone or email, gate personnel can assist with guest clearance as well as after-hours reporting of incidents such as falls and work order issues, StairTrac orders and quality of life issues.
Residents can receive in-person assistance at the Public Safety Office in the Creekside Complex (1000 Stanley Dollar Drive, next to the Rossmoor News. The office is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The office can assist with reporting incidents such as falls, ordering StairTrac, qualify of life issues, obtaining a RFID (transponder for their car to come through gates 3 and 4), obtaining a Rossmoor ID, obtaining a golf cart ID, getting emergency preparedness information and other safety-related matters.
Residents who are reporting a crime or an emergency need to call the Walnut Creek Police Department. For non-emergencies, call 1-925-943-5844. For emergencies, call 911. When in doubt, call 911.
